Making Sure Your Domain is FREE in the Cart:
Easy stuff here. The Qualifying Product you added to your Cart needs to stay in the your Cart and be part of the purchase at the minimum qualifying term length — usually just 12 months, often fewer. The product page where you chose your plan will always show the minimum needed.
If the Domain Doesn't Appear as Free in the Cart: Check the obvious things first...
- Make sure the product term is the correct length. You can change the number of months in the cart if for some reason it's too short a length to qualify, or longer than you wish to purchase.
- You do need to have that qualifying product in your cart. Make sure it got auto-added when you clicked on it to get here, and/or didn't get accidently deleted.
- If the qualifying product isn't in the Cart, no problem. Just go to its product page — found on our Main Menu always showing atop every page — and just re-add the product.
- Make sure the Non-Domain item you added to the cart truly qualifies for a Free .COM — again see the product page. For example, the $1.27 Starter cPanel & Plesk plans don't qualify, but all six other cPanel/Plesk Hosting plans do qualify, from Economy and up.
- Make sure the free domain you added to the cart has one of the TLDs (extensions) included in this promotion, which are: .COM, .ORG, .NET, .CO or .IN.
- Make sure the free domain you choose in the Search Results is at regular price, and not a Premium Domain (one being sold by an third-party our interface. You'll know a Premium Domain when you see one — they're labeled Premium Domain and much higher priced.
- If you delete a Free domain from the Cart for any reason, you can re-add it from any find a domain search page — found on our Main Menu under Domains. The Cart will price it as free.
Do Separate Transactions When Things Don't Price Right:
- Extra Domains in Cart? While you can buy as many domains as you like in a transaction, only one is free for each qualifying product and only one per transaction. So if you want several items plus a free domain for each, buy each item/free-domain pair in a separate transaction.
- If you have multiple domains in one of these free-domain transactions, the Cart decides which domain is free, so if it didn't pick the most expensive one to price at $0.00, just do a separate transaction later for the other domains you want.
- And don't worry, because you always get 15%-Off the price shown in the Search Results for any domain not already on sale.
- Make sure any products/domains of any kind you add as extras to a free-domain transaction are not on a special sale or promo. The Cart is set to prevent discount-stacking, so in such cases it might not give the free domain, or it might remove special rates we offer on virtually every item.
- SOLUTION: Buy additional items in separate transactions to avoid sale-item conflicts.
Ideas Worth Considering:
- You might want to go ahead and buy any additional domains you want right now, even if it's in a separate transaction. Because even when you buy them separately, you get 15%-Off the price shown in the Domain Search Results screens, so long as they aren't already on sale.

Don't Let this Throw You:
Most items in your Cart will show a higher line-item price than you actually pay, but don't worry — just look down at the total amount at the bottom of the Cart. You'll see all those discounts reflected in that final total, which is the amount you pay. It's all discounted to advertised prices.

Since WHEN Does "FREE" Cost Me 18 Cents?
Since Early 2009, when ICANN cut its fee from 20¢ down to 18¢. For over 10 years now, the ICANN-imposed fee on Some Domains has been 18¢ and we dutifully collect and pass this amount to ICANN as required of every Registrar. Even on the Free domains because we actually pay for those. And yes, you read that amount correctly: The ICANN fee is a whopping 18 cents. Put another way, that's 18¢, also known as $0.18) in U.S. Dollar Currency.
If you change the currency of purchase to something other than US Dollars when you're in the Cart — Oh Yes! You can do that and buy in your own local Currency! — then the Cart will convert everything to that currency — including the 18¢ ICANN-imposed fee that affects many common domain names, though it doesn't affect country-code names (ccTLDs - 2 digits).
To summarize: A FREE DOMAIN costs 18 cents ICANN fee when that domain's TLD (extension) is one covered by ICANN, and that is most domains available other than 2-digit country-code domains.
